On Saturday 4th July we re-open our doors following 15 weeks of lockdown.

Lockdown has been a challenging time both personally and professionally however we have taken much needed down time with our families.

Even prior to receiving the government guidelines we had been working hard to assess the needs of our staff and our guests and evaluated how we could open our doors both safely whilst still retaining the relaxed and friendly atmosphere that we have worked hard to build.

Fortunately most of the decisions that we had taken fell in line with those that are now required of us by law.  Without a doubt things will be different for us for the immediate future but we will be working very hard to ensure we offer the same service and that you feel happy and comfortable during your visit.

Please see below all of the changes that will be taking place.

We look forward to welcoming you to The Wonderlab soon.

Covid-19 Salon Safety Measures

We will be reducing the number of stylists in on any one day to 4 to ensure social distancing measures can be maintained.

All guests will only be seen by one staff member across their entire visit to reduce contact.

We will have screens up between each styling station.

There will be no back to back appointments to reduce the number of people in the salon at any one time.

You will be asked to wait outside or in your car until the exact time of your appointment.

Your temperature will be taken on arrival, if you are showing any symptoms, please ensure to cancel your appointment.

All guests will receive a bag with a freshly laundered gown and towel on arrival and we request that you wear a mask.

We will be unable to offer any refreshments or magazines, you are welcome to bring your own.

We request that you bring minimal belongings with you, the cloakroom will be out of use.

There will be no waiting area, please do not bring anyone with you for your appointment, we will be unable to accommodate them.
The salon, including all chairs, surfaces, door handles etc will be thoroughly disinfected throughout the day.

Your stylist will be wearing a visor and gloves where appropriate.  All tools will be thoroughly cleaned between every client.

We request that guests pay using contactless methods such as Apple pay.

Cancellation Policy

Appointments are very in demand.  In order to ensure we are not left with gaps that cannot be filled we must enforce a strict booking policy:

Any changes or cancellations must be made at least 48 hours in advance.  You can do this via your online booking account or the app, by email or telephone.

If you are more than 5 minutes late to your appointment we may be unable to honour your appointment and a fee may be charged.

If you have coloured your hair at home, please ensure to tell us ahead of your appointment.  You may need extra time which will need to be booked in ahead, we will be unable to change the allocated time on the day.

Prices

Our little salon is not particularly conducive to social distancing.  In order to comply with the necessary measures, we are having to reduce both the number of stylists in each day and the number of clients in the salon at any one time.  Even with the increase in working hours and opening more days the number of appointments we can offer in a week will mean a minimum of a 25% reduction in our business.

In addition to this we have invested significantly in preparing the salon for re-opening.  The safety and comfort of our staff and guests is of the upmost importance and we have gone above the necessary health and safety measures and provisions of PPE.  This is following 15 weeks of no business.

With all of this taken into account, in order to future proof our business and ensure we are still here for you next year and many years into the future, we see no choice but to add a surcharge on all appointments whilst these restrictions are in place.  The Covid surcharge will be 20%.

We hope that you understand and support us.  We will continue to review this if and when things revert back to how they were.  If you would rather reschedule your appointment until things are back to normal then we completely understand, but please ensure to do so with at least 48 hours notice!
We look forward to seeing you soon.
