Danielle, one of our Artistic Directors, will be taking part in a hair show later this month with two core themes ‘Monsters Ball’ and ‘Avant Garde’. Trials began this week with Alicia, our beauty therapist, as the model for the Monsters Ball theme.
To begin the style Danielle put Alicia’s hair into a high ponytail, secured with elastic, and then smoothed the pony tail with Aveda’s Spray on Shine. She then used a hairdryer to smooth down the hair’s cuticle. A cardboard toilet roll cylinder was attached to the hair, which had been prepped by wrapping imitation hair around it, to Alicia’s hair using grips. This gave a stable base for Danielle to work from. She pulled some of the Alicia’s natural hair through the cylinder and wrapped it around to look more natural. The remaining hair was crimped to look fuller and more textured and then backcombed at the root and separated to show off the colour and give the look of an explosion.
