Wow 5 years, well 6 years since the day Jade and I decided, half jokingly, that we were going to open a salon. The initial enthusiasm and excitement of ideas turned into hard work and dedication, writing business strategies and creating our identity, until almost exactly one year later the door to The Wonderlab opened.
The ultimate goal was to create a place that we wanted to work in and subsequently that our staff would enjoy working in and our guests would be happy to visit. In fact, quoting the original business plan ‘We aim to create a boutique hair and retail salon that not only offers the traditional hair services but also advice, new trends in hair, beauty and fashion in a luxurious but laid back environment where customers want to visit and spend time.’
Professionally we have received recognition and awards across the spectrum, including salon design, team/service, and Hair Stylist of the year for Jade. We have helped to nurture and develop talent, training and promoting our stylists to ensure they fulfil their personal career goals as well as providing a top level service to our guests.
On a personal level we have built an extended family, with long serving staff and a pool or regular and loyal clients. We have also welcomed two Wonderlab babies into the world with another two on the way.
